This week and next I am training for a new position a work so I am starting my day 2 hours early. Since our lunch hour is at 10 am I have been eating dinner around 3:30/4 pm. I guess that explains why I was craving a smoothie for dinner today. I had my usual smoothie and added crunchy almond butter to the top. Before I lose my momentum for the day, I wanted to share recent eats, movies I have watched and other adventures.

Eats:

  • Buffalo Ranch Salad Kit from Sprout’s: I added chicken and really enjoyed this salad mix! The dressing was delicious. Makes for an easy meal prep.

  • Arugula Salad Mix from Sprout’s: Another good salad mix from Sprout’s. It has pine nuts and almonds. My only issue with this one is that it was a little bit soggy the next day.

  • Whole Food’s Salad Mix with Poppyseed Dressing: This has dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds. I thought this mix held up the next day well. I added almonds to this mix.

  • Culinary Dropout: My mom took me here to celebrate the new job. I have been a few times and have always loved it. I ordered my usual cherry and gorgonzola salad. We also shared vanilla soft serve ice cream.

  • Whole Foods Iced Tea: While I was doing my shopping, I picked up an iced tea. I gave it my iced tea snob stamp of approval!

  • Meal Prepped Fruit: From Whole Foods I bought grapes, blackberries and strawberries. To make sure I ate them I went ahead and cut them up to add them all to a big bowl as soon as I got home.

  • Peanut Butter Smother Smoothie from Xoom Juice: This weekend I was doing morning errands and hadn’t eaten yet, so I grabbed a smoothie while running around. I ordered it with almond milk and soy yogurt. Amazing! Tastes like eating from the peanut butter jar – which I have certainly done more than once.

  • Miss Saigon: Mine and my friend’s go-to restaurant when I meet for dinner. We seem to go here usually after we have seen a movie – maybe because by then we are starving! I ordered my favorite: a chocolate milk tea without boba and the chicken pho with egg noodles. It was as delicious as always.

  • Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese from Baggin’s: I ordered this on there 12 grain bread and it was pretty good. It’s pretty light because there isn’t any protein.

  • Dave’s Cinnamon Raisin Bread: I picked this up from Sprout’s to have as toast with almond butter and apple butter that I also bought from Sprout’s.

  • Sprout’s Raisin Bran: As good as the name brand! Too good actually – I ate through the entire box in just a couple days.

  • Chocolate Chip Muffin Top from Dutch Bro’s: I ordered this with my Almond Milk Chai. It was amazing! A delicious treat for breakfast once in a while. I am not sure of all of their flavors, but I know they have lemon poppyseed. That will probably be the next flavor I try. They have granola bars as well and I am curious about those.

  • Milka Bar with Caramel from World Market: Milka for the win!

  • Dutch Bro’s Iced Tea: I’m obsessed.

  • Turkey Sandwich from Honey Baked Ham: I have been curious about Honey Baked Ham for a while now and I finally gave it a try. I was running around one day and needed a quick bite. The honey mustard on the sandwich definitely made the sandwich. I ordered mine on wheat.

  • Milky Way Cake from Suspiro: This bakery is pretty close to my house. The cake was delicious! They have a lot of different options. Everything looked good.

Movies:

  • Instant Family: Amazing! I highly recommend seeing this movie. I cried so much and laughed a ton as well.

  • Ralph Breaks the Internet: A little long for a kid’s movie and not as good as the first, but I still thought it was cute.

  • Merry Kissmas on Netflix: This was cute!

  • Christmas Wedding Planner on Netflix: I think this is my favorite Netflix Christmas movie so far this year.

Other Adventures:

  • New Succulent from Green Things: I love walking around Green Things. Their pottery is always on sale – or at least the three times I have been there it has been on sale. I picked up a cute new succulent and an adorable pot to go with it.

  • List of the 100 Best-Loved Books from PBS: I missed the program they did, but they have the list of books on their website. I have read 13 of them so far. I have my work cut out for me! They also have a book going over the list. I found it at my favorite bookstore, Mostly Books.

  • Lowe’s: I walked to Lowe’s during my lunch break yesterday and found a few succulents that I am thinking about buying.

  • Library Finds: After work today I stopped by the library to pick up a couple items on hold. I picked up a new book to read since I have finished the stack that my mom let me borrow. The new one is called White Chrysanthemum. It’s a historical fiction, which is one of my favorite genres. I will be sure to blog about it once I finished reading it. I also picked up an audiobook for the trip to Phoenix I have planned in a couple weeks. The audiobook is by the actress from Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt. Should keep me entertained while driving. After picking up my holds I also checked out the cookbooks. I found a book by one of the bloggers I like. I will let you know if I end up making one of the recipes! It’s all about desserts. I may make some treats to give out to co-workers for the holidays.

  • Christmas Shopping: When I arrived home today there was a package from Amazon waiting for me. I am so happy that my Christmas presents are arriving on time! I still have a little bit of shopping today, but I am happy with what I have bought so far.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
