I had a very productive weekend. I was able to complete quite a bit of homework and I started this blog! I was also able to fit in some exploring and some fun. I’ve made a list of my weekend highlights.
1. Oh My Buns: Oh my, these buns are delicious! I can’t believe it took me so long to try them. Oh My Buns is located at the Park Place mall and I have walked by them a dozen times. I tried a milk tea from there once, but never tried a bun. Our supervisor surprised us with buns on Friday. She bought the buns with some kind of cream cheese filling. I will definitely be having more buns in my future!
2. Toni and Guy: It was time for a haircut! I have gotten my haircut at Toni and Guy a few times now. They always do a great job and I love when they style my hair. The deep conditioning treatment is the best. They have a couple options. This time I had the oatmeal and honey treatment. If you’re looking for a good salon, check them out! They are located close to the U of A.
3. Fuego: This is store is located at La Encantada. I stopped by after my hair appointment, as my hair dresser is located near the outdoor shopping center. Fuego recently moved to a bigger storefront. I’m glad they did because they have so many great knick-knacks. If you’re looking for a fun gift, I would recommend stopping by Fuego.
4. AJ’s: A trip to La Encantada is not complete without going by AJ’s. They have delicious pastries, lunch options and café drinks.
5. Guilin Chinese Restaurant: My roommate in college introduced me to Guilin and we used to go all the time! I was craving their Mongolian Chicken so we decided to go there for lunch this weekend. Their lunch specials are on point. $13 for the both of us! The meal comes with the entrée of your choice (they have a lot of options), your choice of appetizer (I always choose the crab puffs), your choice of soup (the egg drop is delicious) and your choice of rice (fried rice every time).
6. Boba Tea Company: This is another place located in the Park Place mall that I have walked by several times, but hadn’t given it a try until this weekend. There are a few places in Tucson that have milk tea, but this is my new favorite! I tried the Cashmere. It is on the secret menu (they have the secret menus at the register). It’s basically a chai tea latte with vanilla. So creamy and delicious! I ordered it over ice, but you can also order the drinks blended. I asked for them to leave out the boba. I don’t really care for it that much.
7. Mostly Books: My favorite bookstore in Tucson! They have new books in the front and used books in the back. I stopped in here to pick up a children’s book for my friend’s baby shower. I ended up finding a few books from the Berenstain Bears series and chose the Under the Sea one. I used to love these books when I was a kid. I read through a couple of them before choosing and they were as cute as I remember! A lot of times I will go and take photos of all the books that look good. I will then go home and see if I can find them on the library website! I do this at Barnes and Noble too. Mostly Books has the BEST selection of greeting cards. I’m a sucker for witty greeting card. Even if I don’t have a specific occasion to shop for, I will still look at the cards and sometimes buy ones to save. You never know when you’ll need a card!
8. Tucson Games and Gadgets: They have a couple locations. The newest one is the location at the Park Place mall. I have played games at the other locations a couple times. This weekend, my friend and I just stopped in to look at the games. They have a ton of games!
