First Watch is the go-to restaurant for my family get-togethers. Whether it is a birthday celebration, Sunday brunch, Mother’s Day or my sister is in town – you better believe our party will be headed to First Watch! The food is delicious, the portions are good and I know that there are options that will accommodate an array of diets. My brother eats gluten free and he has been able to find a dish that he enjoys.
I have tried a few different dishes. The biggest question is always whether to order breakfast or lunch. I typically lean toward breakfast because I do feel like it is their wheelhouse, but I have had lunch as well and have never been disappointed. For lunch I have tried the Market Veggie sandwich, the tomato soup and one of the salads. The Market Veggie sandwich comes on the best whole grain bread that I have ever tried. This is also the bread that comes with the Traditional Breakfast, the Avocado Toast and the A.M. Superfoods Bowl.
The latter is my new favorite First Watch dish. I was curious about it for a while and finally ordered it a couple of times ago. It is chia seed pudding with coconut milk, granola and preserves. It is served with the whole grain toast topped with sea salt and almond butter. Next time I stop in I may ask for a side of the preserves to slather on my toast. That sounds so good right now!
If you haven’t brunched at First Watch yet, add it to your list of places to try. I can’t be the only one that keeps a list on their phone! There are quite a few locations in Tucson, so it makes meeting up with friends convenient.
